The Galco COMBAT MASTER BELT HOLSTER for Pistols is Galco's legendary Open Top* belt holster in proven pancake* design. The double-layered construction hugs flat against the body, providing a high, discreet carry position with the High Ride* seat. The FBI Cant* positions the grip naturally toward the shooting hand, while the open top allows lightning-fast access without straps or thumb breaks. With over 650 reviews on the manufacturer's website, the Combat Master is one of Galco's best-selling holsters – proven among shooters, law enforcement, and competitive shooters worldwide.
The Adjustable Retention* tension screw allows individual adjustment of the holding force: tighter for active movement, looser for a faster draw. Crafted from Premium Saddle Leather* with double-stitched seams, fitting belts up to 1¾". Available for a wide range of pistols and revolvers.

Glossary:
- Open Top* – No thumb break, strap, or cover over the grip. The firearm is secured by the leather's tension alone, allowing the fastest possible draw.
- High Ride* – The holster sits high on the belt, hugging the body more closely and making it easier to conceal under clothing.
- Adjustable Retention* – A tension screw allows you to adjust how tightly the holster grips the firearm. Tighter = more secure hold. Looser = faster draw.
- Retention* – How tightly the holster holds the firearm. Higher retention = more secure hold, but slower draw.
- FBI Cant* – The grip tilts rearward approximately 15°–20°. This facilitates a natural drawing motion and keeps the barrel tighter against the body. Developed and preferred by the FBI and other federal agencies.
- OWB* – Outside Waistband – the holster mounts on the outside of the belt (as opposed to IWB holsters, which tuck inside the waistband).
- Premium Saddle Leather* – "Number One" grade American steerhide, representing the top 2% of all available hides, selected for firmness, consistency, and fiber structure.
- Vegetable Tanned* – A traditional, eco-friendly tanning method using natural tannins from tree bark (e.g., oak, mimosa). Produces firm, long-lasting leather without chrome salts or chemicals. More skin-friendly, more biodegradable, and develops a beautiful patina over time.
- IDPA* – International Defensive Pistol Association: An international sport shooting organization focused on realistic self-defense scenarios.
- USPSA* – United States Practical Shooting Association: The U.S. governing body for practical shooting competition.
