GALCO VHS 4.0 shoulder holster system
Vertical system with service history
GALCO describes the VHS range as a long-serving military and law-enforcement system, including use in Iraq and Afghanistan and by police helicopter pilots. The VHS 4.0 offers vertical carry as an alternative to the horizontal MIAMI CLASSIC arrangement.
Redesigned harness
The VHS 4.0 redesigns the shape of the shoulder straps. The 2½-inch-wide straps are recontoured to support comfort and concealment. The system fits chest measurements up to 56 inches.
Four articulating suspension points
All four suspension points of the spider harness pivot independently. They connect through the clover-shaped Flexalon back plate and the swivel connectors described by GALCO as patented. This articulation lets the harness follow body movement.
Key-hole fasteners and tie-downs
The key-hole harness fasteners replace the earlier screw-and-post arrangement. GALCO states that this simplifies assembly and reduces the chance of losing fasteners. The redesigned tie-down system is compact, concealable and usable with either hand.
Complete delivery scope
The steerhide system includes a vertical holster, harness, vertical double magazine carrier with secure flaps, tie-downs for the holster and magazine carrier, and harness fasteners. It is a complete system, not merely the separately offered holster component.
Ambidextrous and modular
The VHS 4.0 converts for right- or left-hand use. Additional modular components are sold separately. The supplied color is the one selected for the actual fit.
Extended magazines and separate components
For full-size and compact pistols, the system magazine carrier generally does not accept extra-capacity or extended magazines. For extended-magazine combinations not listed in the firearm-model selector, GALCO specifies purchasing the holster, harness and extended or horizontal magazine carrier separately. For compact/subcompact pistols, magazines from the corresponding full-size version will generally also fit where such a version exists. GALCO recommends individual clarification if necessary.
Magazines with grip sleeves
Magazines with exterior grip sleeves may not fit properly because their baseplates rub together. Increased capacity or an exterior sleeve is therefore not automatically covered by the selected system.

Scope of delivery
Vertical holster, harness, ammunition carrier, tie-downs for holster and ammunition carrier, and harness fasteners. Additional optional components are not included.
Material and color guidance
Leather is a natural material, so slight differences can occur even within one color. For a coordinated appearance, choose leather holsters and accessories from the same manufacturer with the same color designation. Color names from different manufacturers do not guarantee a match.
