Cordura is a patented name for a nylon fabric that has been refined by the addition of additional fibres. Cordura nylon is a high quality material that is ideal for holster production because it combines the strengths of pure nylon and offers even greater dimensional stability thanks to Cordura fibres. Cordura was originally intended for the army. It is a thick nylon fabric with a special thread structure, a water-repellent impregnation and a polyurethane coating. It is a polyamide fabric which, thanks to the special structure of the thread, achieves four times the abrasion resistance of a simple nylon, also made of polyamide.
